Privacy Policy

Savio ("we", "us", "our") is operated in Australia and handles your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, where it lives, and the choices you have. If you don't accept this policy, don't use Savio.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — name, email, mobile number and password you provide at sign up.
  • Household & profile details you choose to add — e.g. household type, dependants, property/contents value, insurance type. Only used to improve savings comparisons.
  • Documents you upload — bills, ID images, insurance and warranty documents.
  • Extracted bill data — provider, plan, amounts and dates parsed from your uploads.
  • Usage & device data — basic app usage, IP, device type, needed for reliability and fraud prevention.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide the core service: reminders, calendar, document storage, deal comparisons.
  • Send transactional emails: verification, password reset, renewal alerts.
  • Improve Savio and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Where your data is stored

Your account data, documents and extracted bill fields are stored on managed cloud infrastructure hosted in the Sydney (ap-southeast-2) region of Australia. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Each user's data is isolated by row-level security so other users cannot see it.

4. Sharing & third parties

We share information only with service providers that help us operate Savio (hosting, OCR, email, analytics, payments) and only to the extent needed. Some processors we rely on (e.g. AI providers) may process data outside Australia; where they do, they are bound by contractual security and privacy obligations. When you tap "Switch & save" we may pass non-personal referral identifiers to the merchant; we do not share your uploaded documents.

5. Access, correction, deletion

You can view, edit and delete your documents at any time in the app. Tapping Delete account in Profile starts a permanent deletion request; all personal data and uploaded files are removed within 28 days.

6. Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use Savio. The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

7. Complaints & governing law

If you have a privacy concern, contact us at getsavio.app@gmail.com or via the in-app Support form. If you are unhappy with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), and any court proceedings must be commenced in the ACT courts.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are notified in the app.
